چکیده
conclusions patient with cad and ms had higher risk than those with only cad because of lipid and glucose metabolism abnormalities. combination measurements of serum lox-1 and adiponectin levels may be helpful to evaluate the severity of cad together with ms. results serum lox-1 level was highest in cad + ms group; the difference between control and disease groups was statistically significant (p < 0.001). adiponectin level had the lowest value in cad + ms group; the difference between control and disease groups was statistically significant (p < 0.05). no significant differences were observed in serum lectin-like oxidized-low density lipoprotein receptor-1and adiponectin in patients with different ages and gender. serum lox-1 level was changed negatively and linearly (r2 = 0.721) correlated with adiponectin level in different groups. patients and methods thirty patients with coronary artery disease without metabolic syndrome, 30 patients with coronary artery disease and metabolic syndrome, 30 ones with metabolic syndrome and 30 healthy subjects were enrolled. for all subjects, a questionnaire was filled to collect data, and peripheral blood samples were collected aseptically from the antecubital vein to measure serum lectin-like oxidized-low density lipoprotein receptor-1 and adiponectin levels by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. background coronary artery disease (cad) is a major public health problem for developed and developing countries and is the single leading cause of death worldwide. objectives there is very few evidence regarding changes of both serum lectin-like oxidized-low density lipoprotein receptor-1 (lox-1) and adiponectin in patients with cad accompanied with metabolic syndrome (ms). here we aimed to evaluate serum levels of lox-1 and adiponectin in patients with cad accompanied with ms.

BACKGROUND We examined the association of 3 polymorphisms in the lectin-like oxidized LDL receptor-1 (LOX1 or OLR1) gene with coronary artery disease in the Women's Ischemia Syndrome Evaluation (WISE) study population. METHODS AND RESULTS The WISE sample comprised 589 white and 122 black women who underwent angiography for suspected ischemia. The sample was divided into 3 groups: <20% stenosi...
متن کاملSerum soluble lectin-like oxidized low-density lipoprotein receptor-1 levels are elevated in acute coronary syndrome: a novel marker for early diagnosis.
BACKGROUND Markers of cardiac injury, including troponin-T (TnT), are used to diagnose acute coronary syndrome (ACS); however, markers for plaque instability may be more useful for diagnosing ACS at the earliest stage. Lectin-like oxidized LDL receptor-1 (LOX-1) appears to play crucial roles in the pathogenesis of atherosclerotic plaque rupture and ACS onset. LOX-1 is released in part as solubl...
متن کاملThe Lectin-Like Oxidized Low-Density Lipoprotein Receptor-1 and Cardiovascular Disease
Lectin-like oxidized LDL receptor-1 (LOX-1), a lectin-like 50-kD receptor for oxidized low-density lipoproteins (ox-LDL), is present primarily on endothelial cells. Oxidatively modified low-density lipoprotein (oxLDL) is implicated in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. Endothelial dysfunction is the initial change in the vascular wall that induces morphological changes for atheroma-formation....
متن کاملEffect of Vitamin Supplementation on Serum Oxidized Low-Density Lipoprotein Levels in Male Subjects with Cardiovascular Disease Risk Factors
Objective(s) Oxidized low-density lipoproteins (ox-LDLs) appear to play a significant role in atherogenesis. In fact, circulating ox-LDL concentrations have been recognized as a risk factor for cardiovascular disease (CVD). The main objectives of this study were to assess the effects of antioxidant vitamins on ox-LDL as a biomarker of CVD in male subjects with CVD risk factors. Materials and ...
متن کاملAnti-(apolipoprotein A-1) IgGs are associated with high levels of oxidized low-density lipoprotein in acute coronary syndrome.
ApoA-1 (apolipoprotein A-1) is the main component of HDL (high-density lipoprotein) and stabilizes PON-1 (paraoxonase-1), which prevents lipid peroxidation and oxLDL (oxidized low-density lipoprotein) formation. Autoantibodies against apoA-1 [anti-(apoA-1) IgG] have been found in antiphospholipid syndrome and systemic lupus erythematosous, two diseases with an increased risk of thrombotic event...
